STC Board welcomes new members DeRose & Nowak

CLEVELAND – August 1, 2017 – The Senior Transportation Connection (STC) Board of Directors welcomed two new board members at its July meeting. Doug DeRose is Vice President/Chief Financial & Administrative Officer for the National Tooling & Machining Association. Dale A. Nowak Esq. is a partner at Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC. They join the leadership of the non-profit countywide paratransit provider and will serve three-year terms.

Doug DeRose is responsible for the management of accounting, human resources, events and the National Robotics League at National Tooling & Machining Association. He has been with the association for four years, with more than 20 years of financial and operations management experience. He brings expertise in strategic planning and organizational restructuring, budget and cash management, forecasting, financial analysis, tax exempt bond financing, benefits administration and systems conversions,

Previously, he was assistant director for Finance & Administration at The Dayton Art Institute; CFO of the PBA Tour and Vice President of Business Administration at Goodwill Industries, Akron. He is a member of American Society of Association Executives, Tri-C Experiential Learning Advisory Board and Cleveland Financial Executives Networking Group. Doug earned his B.S. in business administration at the University of Dayton. He and his wife Katie have three children, Nick, Carmen and Vinny.

 Dale A. Nowak is a partner with Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, specializing Business Litigation, Employment Litigation and Workers’ Compensation. He specializes in representing small- to mid-size businesses throughout Ohio, with a focus upon prevention and dispute resolution. He has more than 30 years’ experience.

Dale earned his B.A. cum laude at Cleveland State University and his J.D. magna cum laude at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He a member of the Ohio Bar, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio, and a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan and Ohio State Bar associations.  He was a judicial clerk to the Ohio Eight District Court of Appeals, and an instructor at Cleveland-Marshall. He is a member of Holy Trinity Parish.

STC will take you to medical appointments, senior centers, grocery shopping and more! Senior Transportation Connection provides coordinated, efficient, affordable transportation for seniors and adults with disabilities throughout Cuyahoga County, Ohio. If you're an older adult or someone with disabilities, learn how low cost rides with STC can help. STC has accessible vehicles with ramps or lifts for easy, comfortable entry. “Door to door” assistance from trained drivers delivers exceptional customer service and a personal experience. When you reserve a ride, you will speak to a real person in our Cleveland-based Call Center -- No getting stuck in an automated menu, pressing buttons! Our goal is to keep our passengers connected to their community activities, medical care and hot meals with friends. You will ride safely and in comfort if you use a wheelchair, walker or other equipment. If you need someone to help, your personal care aide can accompany you. How it Works Once approved, you can make reservations for trips three days or more in advance. The service is available weekdays. Your community defines where we travel, what kinds of trips are allowed, the fees and hours of operation. We confirm all this when you schedule your ride. Since communities and agencies pay for most of the trip, we work together to keeps costs affordable and your fees manageable.
